About De Ole School

De Ole School – STORY & HISTORY

“Ole School” means “Old School”. And not without reason. The name is a historical reference to the place where the Hohwacht elementary school was once located. From now on, school holidays will probably be spent here.

Rooted in Hohwacht

Above all, Kian, the neighborhood manager and your host, is very familiar with the place. Because he actually went to elementary school here from 1994 to 1998. He and his wife Lisa will be there for you.

From the old village school to the modern district

Now five sustainable wooden houses with red shingles characterize the idyllic grounds of the old village school at the entrance to Hohwacht. The concept of “Feels like home but better” is perfectly implemented here, because anyone who often longs for the comfort of their own home on vacation will be completely satisfied here.

Frequently asked questions about sustainability

You have a question? We are glad to help you.

  • Is it possible to rent bicycles?

Yes, in Hohwacht, you can find the Sikorad bike rental located at Berliner Platz 1, on-site Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 11:00. For pre-bookings, they're also available on-site on Saturdays and Sundays. Otherwise, you can always reach them at 01523 422 06 23 or contact@sikorad.de.

  • What do I need to know about disposal and waste separation?

The waste is separated into paper, packaging with the green dot, organic waste and residual waste. Appropriately labeled containers are available on the property between Huus Walden and the street “Am Buchholz”. Please pay attention to the different color code for the bin lids in the Plön district compared to other places: paper = green, recyclables/plastic packaging = yellow, organic waste = brown, residual waste = black. We also have a glass bin for daily needs, but would like to ask you to dispose of larger quantities of bottles and used glass directly in the waste glass containers in town (e.g. in the large parking lot at Edeka ALPEN: the containers can be driven directly to the car become).

More information about this in the neighborhood code.

  • Garbage bags, toilet paper etc. - what is already there when you arrive?

Our apartments are all self-catering apartments. When you arrive, you will find a small “starter set”: a few garbage bags and dishwasher tabs, coffee and coffee filters and toilet paper. You can find all of this and more in our “Lütt Shop” on the neighborhood grounds. 🙂
